Junior Sailing Association of Long Island Sound

  Mission Statement
The Mission of the Junior Sailing Association of Long Island Sound is to support junior sailors at member programs and to encourage them to experience the joy of sailing and learn about and appreciate the complexities of the marine environment.

The JSA promotes ethical behavior among its sailors and encourages the teaching of life-long lessons which seek to build character, foster teamwork and strengthen respect for self and others.

Through its programs and policies, the JSA seeks to support both serious competitors and recreational sailors at all levels of skill and to encourage their sailing in local waters and beyond.

Welcome to our Web Site

Welcome to the Web site of the Junior Sailing Association of Long Island. With year-round headquarters located in Larchmont, New York, JSA is entering its 76th season of Junior Sailing since it was founded in 1924.

Over the years, JSA has conducted programs so that hundreds of boys and girls have been introduced to sailing and small boat one-design racing. Many JSA Program alumni have gone on to national and world level competition. Not only is there a long history of junior sailing, but many of our JSA board members are past Junior Members of a JSA Program.

JSA of Long Island Sound is nationally recognized for its excellence in helping kids become a part of the wonderful world of sailing. Our support to our 44 member clubs in both New York and Connecticut, provides the services needed to run their Junior Sailing programs. Clearly, Junior programs are one of the only organized ways for introducing young people to sailing and sailing competition.

Our Web Site contains information on our sailing, racing and program support activities, which make up our organization. Please gives us your input not only on our Web site, but on how JSA can better serve you and your young sailors.

Thanks for visiting JSA's Web Site.
