LASER & C420 CLINIC
Stamford Yacht Club, two-day clinic June 28-29, 2008
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
For over 15 years, the JSA of LIS and the Oyster Bay Sailing Foundation have sponsored the Advanced Racing Clinic, one of the most prestigious sailing clinics in the country. Again this year, in conjunction with Stamford Yacht Club, this two day clinic will be offered to advanced racing sailors. The program consists of conditioning, interactive discussions designed to maximize your boat speed and improve your knowledge of tactics and rules, and on-the-water drills to analyze and critique technique. JSA has recruited several high level coaches to lead this clinic intended for advanced Laser, Laser Radial and Club 420 sailors, and Law Trophy competitors. See clinic notice here.
LISOT - Optimist and C420 training
LISOT provides racing clinics held around and off the sound designed for motivated Optimist sailors who want to spend lots of time honing their skills to compete against the best Opti racers in the country and the world. LISOT also provides coaching at regional and national level USODA championships. Clinics are open to any serious Opti racer in the JSA.
LISOT also has a very active C420 program. The Spring program will
lead into a high intensity summer program that includes 3 weeks of
training followed by participation in the major national and regional
C420 regattas. The group will continue to practice throughout the Fall
before heading to the big Fall and Winter regattas. The program is run
by a full-time 420 coach (Steve Keen) and the group practices at
different venues around the sound each weekend.
