Big Boat Program Changes in 2008:
We have prepared a Big Boat Manual that contains information from the JSA Rules, YRALIS and the 2008 seamanship and navigation tests all combined in one booklet.

Junior Big Boat Program Guidelines from Black Rock YC:
Big boat programs can tap into the population of teen sailors who either lost interest in dinghy sailing or never had small boat training. Do you have the problem of teen drop-out? Would you like to add an exciting option for your one-design teens? Does your club have an existing big boat program that you want to enhance? Would you like to know how to get one started?
At the JSA annual meeting in October 2005, members of Black Rock YC's junior big boat committee described the program outline and curriculum that has been so successful at BRYC. Now in its tenth year, it has juniors who are active in both the one-design and the big-boat programs, as well as juniors who are in the big boat program only. BRYC has received notification from the US Coast Guard that their JBBS
program is not regarded as a boat-for-hire program, so no special licence is required for their volunteer boat owners.
